Drawing inspiration from Knowle

Knowle is a place that I spent 11 years of my life. Now as I have spent my formative years outside of the area I have come to realise that it was a big part of my development. 

Whilst studying a BA Honours degree in Photography, I was looking for a subject matter which I could relate to. Knowle was that subject matter. 

Knowle was an area which many people would have seen as rundown. However, I have witnessed parts of the area becoming more prosperous.

Within these images I wish to document the area as I see it, using black and white film to create concentrated photographs. 

I have decided to call this project 0117 as this is the phone area code that would be recognised by those who know Knowle best.
