‘Be brave enough to suck at something new’

An artist whose motivational quotes have become a regular sight across Bristol has painted one of his biggest ever pieces.

DFTE’s new work is on the wall of Toyville overlooking the front garden of North Street Standard in Bedminster.

White capital letters with the paint dripping down a black  background spell out: ‘Be brave enough to suck at something new’

“Sucking at something is the first step towards being sorta good at something,” wrote DFTE on Instagram, quoting Jake the Dog from Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time.

The new mural by DFTE is located above another by David Puck and has replaced a piece by Liam Bononi which was painted in 2021.
