Freelance Mum network celebrates 2nd birthday

By Laura Collacott  Sunday Jul 17, 2016

Freelance Mum has celebrated its second birthday since it was founded by former Radio Bristol presenter Faye Dicker after the birth of her first child.

Faye said: “The last 24 months have been a whirlwind. One of the highlights was has been invited to London to meet The Chancellor, George Osborne, as one of the Small Biz 100 with Small Business Saturday. It was great being able to chat about my business and the positive effect it has on so many lives.

“It can be a difficult period for professional women, many have left their careers to have children. Freelance Mum is all about getting them together to share their experiences in business, exchange ideas and contacts, giving them the confidence to strike out on their own as entrepreneurs, or simply give them inspiration when they are ready to head back into the workplace.”

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

The sessions are held in a church in Bedminster and provide a messy space for the children to play in, while the mums listen to a variety of inspiring guest speakers including Trunki’s Rob Law. Expanded sessions now include a ‘walk and talk’ section where parents can get out with their pushchairs around the streets of Bristol.

Faye has also expanded the sessions to include a ‘walk and talk’ section, where the parents can get out and about with their pushchairs around the Bristol streets. Sessions take place on the second Tuesday of every month in Southville.
