Jane Fonda has never been better than she was in future All the President’s Men director Alan J. Pakula‘s second film, for which she deservedly won an Oscar back in 1971.

She plays an upmarket call girl who’s stalked by a homicidal maniac. Also on top form is the young Donald Sutherland, who plays a small-town detective closing in on the killer.

The Watershed’s screening is part of the 1971: The Year Hollwood Went Independent strand of Cinema Rediscovered and will be introduced by cinema curator Mark Cosgrove.
