As Tears Go By

Director
Wong Kar-Wai
Certificate
18
Running Time
95 mins

In Hong Kong’s neon-lit gangland underworld, small-time mob enforcer Andy Lau finds himself torn between a burgeoning romance with his ailing cousin (Maggie Cheung) and loyalty to his loose-cannon partner in crime (Jacky Cheung), whose reckless attempts to make a name for himself unleash a spiral of violence.

Restored in 4K, Wong Kar-Wai’s debut feature from 1988 is a gritty crime thriller. It launches the Watershed’s The World of Wong Kar-Wai season.
