Dino rights come to Isla Nublar in this second part of the projected Jurassic World trilogy. You’ll recall that at the end of 2015’s Jurassic World, Homo sapiens scarpered once again, leaving the prehistoric beasties to their own devices on their island off the Pacific coast of Central America. Well now it’s four years on and the dino idyll is threatened by an impending volcanic eruption.
Former park manager Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) sets up the Dinosaur Protection Group with the intention of whisking the toothy critters to a US sanctuary created by John Hammond’s former business partner, Benjamin Lockwood (James Cromwell). There are no prizes for guessing where this is heading. Spanish director J.A. Bayona (The Impossible, A Monster Calls) takes over from Colin Trevorrow to wrangle the rampaging raptor action this time, Jeff Goldblum is back in a cameo role, and Rafe Spall and Toby Jones are among new members of the cast.
