Wokesters should either steer clear or start preparing their placards for this Cultpix revival of the 1967 exploitation horror. It’s a loose unofficial remake of Tod Browning’s Freaks, which in turn scandalised 1930s society.
This ultra-low-budget slice of sleaze is set in redneck country, where cynical waitress Jade Cochran (Claire Brennan) marries the owner of a travelling freakshow for his money. When he’s murdered by her lover, she inherits the whole show but sows the seeds of her own destruction by firing Shorty the dwarf.
