BFI London Film Festival 2021: Titane

Director
Julia Ducournau
Certificate
TBA
Running Time
108 mins

Billed by the BBC as “the most shocking film of 2021”, French director Julia Ducournau‘s Cannes Palme d’Or-winning follow-up to her terrific cannibal flick Raw is a Cronenberg-referencing body horror starring Agathe Rousselle as a female serial killer who becomes pregnant after having sex with a car.

A minority of critics have been sniffy about this magnificently demented, hugely imaginative fable, but we’ll go with the the Toronto Film Festival audience who awarded it the People’s Choice Award for Midnight Madness.
