Hey – it worked for Pirates of the Caribbean. That’s right: Disney has adapted another of its theme park rides to become a movie (and, quite possibly, a franchise). This one’s set in the early 20th century and has riverboat captain Dwayne Johnson (currently Hollywood’s go-to guy for blockbuster action-fantasy) taking boffin Emily Blunt and har comic relief brother Jack Whitehall on a mssion into the jungle to find the Tree of Life. Along they way, they encounter all manner of fearsome beasts and a dastardly rival Imperial German expedition bent on beating them to it.

Yep, it feels like they’ve fed the scripts of The Mummy, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, every previous Dwayne Johnson action-fantasy flick and, er, The African Queen into a computer and applied a minor tweaking algorithm.
