This latest HD Exhibition on Film documentary from The Boy who Plays on the Buddhas of Bamiyan and I, Claude Monet director Phil Grabsky traces the rise to greatness of a small boy from southern Spain.

Two years in the making, it explores Pablo Picasso’s formative years by drawing on the collections of five major European museums: Museo Picasso Málaga, Fundación Picasso-Museo Casa Natal, Málaga, where he was born; Museu Picasso de Barcelona, where the most extensive collection of his early works is held; Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, Barcelona and the Musée national Picasso-Paris, in the city Picasso called home. Additional insight comes from historians, curators, letters from friends and lovers, and Picasso’s grandson Olivier Widmaier Picasso.
