While out whacking beasts for his pot, Prince Siegfried happens upon a flock of swans. Good job he stops slaughterin’, cos one of them promptly turns into – phwoarr! – a hot lady named Odette. Naturally, our boy is smitten, but there’s a catch (there’s always a catch, right?) – Odette is held under a spell that permits her to regain human form only at night.
Something of a critical flop on its premiere back in 1877, Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake went on to become one of the world’s most popular ballets. The Bolshoi’s production is broadcast live from Moscow.
