The tale of a French boy (Stranger Things‘ Noah Schnapp) who saves Jewish kids by smuggling them over the Pyrenees into Spain, this latest adpatation of a wartime YA novel (and stage play) by Michael Morpurgo, of War Horse fame, certainly looks handsome, but was dismissed by The Guardian as a “soggy mess”.
