The Irishman

Director
Martin Scorsese
Certificate
15
Running Time
209 mins

Few new releases have been anticipated quite so eagerly as Martin Scorsese‘s ninth collaboration with Robert De Niro, for which they return to the gangster genre. Oh yeah, Joe Pesci, Harvey Keitel, Stephen Graham and Anna Paquin are in the cast too. De Niro plays Frank ‘The Irishman’ Sheeran, whose account of what really happened to Teamsters boss Jimmy Hoffa (Al Pacino, for it is he) forms the basis of Scorsese’s epic. Much of the advance publicity has focused on the state-of-the-art digital de-aging that’s been used to make De Niro and chums come over all young again as the story unfolds over several decades.

The bad news, of course, is that this is a Netflix production, so your chances of seeing it on the big screen are likely to be very limited.
