Having just found out that she was adopted, veteraniary student Rose (Ann Skelly) tracks down and begins to stalk her birth mother, Ellen (Orla Brady), a successful TV actor. After a confrontation, it becomes clear that Rose is digging up a very dark and dangerous past indeed…
Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor’s chilling and transgressive revenge thriller has received universal praise. “It’s a tale that feels ancient in structure, but terrifyingly modern in detail, mapping MeToo-era revelations and a contemporary preoccupation with fractured identities onto a deceptively simple revenge plot that could have been plucked directly from a Greek drama, then plunged into liquid nitrogen to achieve its deep-freeze aesthetic,” remarked Variety‘s reviewer.
Co-director Christine Molloy will be present for a Q&A after the Watrershed’s 3pm screening on Sunday 19 September.
