French Film Festival on Tour: Happy Birthday

Director
Cédric Kahn
Certificate
15
Running Time
101 mins

Something of a treat for fans of the family meltdown genre, director/writer/co-star Cédric Kahn‘s ensemble comedy stars the great Catherine Deneuve as matriarch Andréa, whose vast clan have assembled to celebrate her 70th birthday. Their ranks include wayward son Romain (Vincent Macaigne) and prodigal daughter Claire (Emmanuelle Bercot), who pitches up with mountains of psychological baggage. Emotional fireworks ensue.

This screening kicks off the 2019 French Film Festival on Tour, which always brings an excellent selection of previews.
