Arsenal + Bronnt Industries Kapital score

Director
Aleksandr Dovzhenko
Running Time
90 mins

Aleksandr Dovzhenko‘s 1929 silent anti-war classic follows a recently demobbed soldier as he returns to his hometown Kiev amid celebrations of Ukrainian freedom at the end of WWI. The film was recently restored by the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Centre (ODNC) in Kiev, and the British Council and ODNC commissioned Bristol-based producer/multi-instrumentalist Guy Bartell, aka Bronnt Industries Kapital, to compose a new soundtrack.

Part-recorded at the Cube itself, the score was unveiled at Filmic back in 2016 and the film is back as part of a tour to mark the 100th anniversary (to the day) of the Bolshevik uprising it documents. This live performance also serves as a launch party for the soundtrack’s release on Nottingham’s I Own You records
