Tom Petty: Somewhere You Feel Free – The Making of Wallflowers

Director
Mary Wharton
Certificate
15
Running Time
105 mins

If you’re not already a fan of the late, great Tom Petty, Mary Wharton‘s documentary may be a bit niche for you. But enthusiasts will lap it up, concentrating as it does on the period between 1993 and 1995, when he recorded his most emotionally raw album, Wallflowers.

The winner of the 2021 SXSW Audience Award, the film includes new interviews with album co-producers Rick Rubin and Heartbreaker Mike Campbell, along with original Heartbreaker Benmont Tench.
