Nobody is claiming that Rob Richardson never dunnit. He was sentenced to life without parole for his role in a botched armed robbery, committed as an act of desperation

What Garrett Bradley‘s provocative, award-winning (Best Director at Sundance) documentary does instead is focus on his tireless wife Fox Rich’s campaign for his release, while raising her six sons. Using Rich’s own home movie footage, Time explores how incarceration tears apart families and segregates communities, and examines her contention that the US prison system is ‘slavery’. It’s a film that “will almost certainly rewire how Americans think about the prison-industrial complex,” reckoned Variety.

The Watershed’s preview screenings on October 11 are part of the BFI London Film Festival… in Bristol season.
