Slapstick 2020: Suffragettes in Silent Comedy + panel discussion

Director
Various
Certificate
PG
Running Time
70 mins

Broadcaster and award-winning journalist Samira Ahmed makes her Slapstick Festival debut as a panellist in what promises to be a fascinating event exploring the ways in which suffragettes were portrayed in silent comedy. Expect to see a lot of blokes dressed as women and behaving suitably monstrously. Her fellow panellist is stand-up comedian and Slapstick regular Lucy Porter. The event is chaired by Andrew Kelly of the Festival of Ideas and the film clips will feature live piano accompaniment from John Sweeney.
