This year’s annual Slapstick Festival selection of recent discoveries by indefatigable film collector and Slapstick stalwart Anthony Saffrey includes lost rarities from the brief, brilliant career of America’s first international comedy star John Bunny (pictured) and Danish actor/director Lau Lauritzen Sr’s 1921 Chicken Chaser (probably not as rude as it sounds). Film historian David Robinson will also reveal more new discoveries about the forgotten British star of French theatre and film comedy, Aimée Campton, as first revealed in last year’s festival’s Lost and Found strand.
