Alice Howell was a huge comedy star in the late teens and early 1920s and one of the few women permitted to be funny in her own right in the male-dominated world of silent screen comedy.

In this Slapstick Festival event, stand-up comedian and writer Lucy Porter introduces a selection of Howell’s funniest, newly restored comedy shorts.
