Running Time

Another of those great forgotten stars of the silent era, Betty Balfour was once dubbed ‘Britain’s Queen of Happiness’. The Vagabond Queen casts her as a humble serving girl who poses as a princess, becoming the target of an assassination attempt, with – you guessed it! – hilarious consequences. This Slapstick Festival screening is introduced by Lucy Porter and features live piano accompaniment by John Sweeney.
