Previously best known for such earthy, misanthropic, Bressonian arthouse dramas as the award-winning L’Humanite, Hadewijch and Flandres, Bruno Dumont took an unexpected turn into comedy with his 2014 TV series P’tit Quinquin and the subsequent feature, Slack Bay.
Now he’s followed up P’tit Quinquin with another four-parter, Coincoin and the Extra-Humans, which once again casts Bernard Pruvost as the memorable police captain. It’s billed is another absurd and macabre adventure featuring aliens, refugees and madcap cops. The Watershed screens all four episodes over two days. Bruno Dumont will be present for a Q&A after the screeneing of the first two episodes on January 11.
