Bristol Palestine Film Festival: Holy Air

Director
Shady Srour
Certificate
TBA
Running Time
81 mins

Adam (writer/director Shady Srour) and Lamia (Laëtitia Eïdo) are a Christian Arab couple from Nazareth . When Lamia falls pregnant, Adam decides it’s time to knuckle down and earn some cash for his family by embarking on a hare-brained scheme: selling bottled ‘Holy Air’ to religious tourists. But in order to pull this off he needs to get onside the three cultures ruling Nazareth: Jewish politicians, the Muslim mafia, and the Catholic Church.

Rounding off the Bristol Palestine Film Festival on a cheerful note, this entertaining second feature from Palestinian writer/director/star Shady Srour was hailed by the Hollywood Reporter as “a winningly satiric comedy that’s as tenderhearted as it is sly”.
