Cinema Rediscovered: Aardman’s Earliest Films Restored

As part of its Bristol UNESCO City of Film strand, Cinema Rediscovered presents brand new 4K restorations of the two films in 1977’s Animated Conversations and the five films in 1983’s Conversation Pieces, in which Aardman founders Peter Lord and David Sproxton established the style of that would win the studio international fame (and a trophy cabinet full of gongs) with Nick Park’s Creature Comforts. The screening will be introduced by David Sproxton and Aardman Archivist Tom Vincent.

Mildly interesting trivia note: one of the conversations they recorded took place in the offices of Bristol what’s on mag Out West, which was the precursor to Venue magazine, which was in turn the precursor to Bristol 24/7.
