First and best of producer George Lucas and director Steven Spielberg’s Indiana Jones flicks, originally conceived as a homage to the Saturday morning adventure serials of their youth. In other words, it’s just one long, exhilarating and rather preposterous chase in which Indy (a well-cast Harrison Ford) braves snake chambers, booby-trapped caves and the like on a mission to find the Ark of the Covenant before the dastardly Nazis get their hands on it.

It’s back on screen in the Showcase chain’s ‘Flashback’ season of cinema classics.
