Say what you like about the eco-unfriendliness of this petrolhead action franchise, but you can’t knock its commitment to recycling as it continues to deliver hard car porn to the lads.

This is a sequel to 2017’s F&F8 (aka The Fate of the Furious) rather than 2019’s Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, which means aptly named Vin Diesel is back burning rubber in exotic locations. It also recycles previous director Justin Lin, whose last entry in the franchise was 2013’s Fast & Furious 6. This time, however, our shiny-domed hero is pitted against two baddies: John Cena, playing the brother of a previously defeated foe, and Charlize Theron. Reviewers have chortled at the utter ludicrousness of the action, but this is hardly likely to deter the target blokey-bloke audience.
