Women walk in silent procession for ‘peace and justice’
A group of women walked through the city in a silent procession for “peace and justice, and against genocide” on Sunday afternoon.
All of the women were dressed in black, with some wearing mourning veils and carrying symbolic babies, push chairs and kids’ shoes to signify children killed since the conflict started in Gaza.
One placard reading “Meet the children who froze to death” had the names of some children who had been killed written on it.

One of the women softly tapped a small drum as they walked through the city centre
The group of nearly 20 women started walking from College Green, making their way through Broadmead, Cabot Circus and St Nicholas Market.
Most women also had placards with messages clipped to their backs.
Other participants handed over flyers to passers-by to explain the intention behind their protest.
“Israel is continuing to commit genocide against the Palestinian people under the cover of ‘ceasefire’.
“It is actively preventing recovery from the human catastrophe that devastates the lives of the Palestinian people.
“We need urgent international action to uphold international law, provide protection of civilians and infrastructure, and hold perpetrators to account.”
Organised by Women in Black Bristol, the action was also supported by members from Palestine Solidarity Bristol.
