Violent assault after City game

A violent assault left two men hospitalised after Bristol City’s home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, April 8.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the incident outside the Spotted Cow on North Street shortly after 6pm, following a home win at nearby Ashton Gate earlier in the afternoon.

Bristol24/7 understands that two men attacked another pair of men, who were rushed to hospital with what is thought to be non-life threatening injuries.

One witness said he saw was a man being stretchered off with a large wound to the back of his head.

The road was cordoned off while officers secured evidence from the scene.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset police confirmed that two men, aged 26 and 52, were arrested in connection with the incident and have been released under investigation.

Enquiries into the assault are ongoing.
