Police divers find body in search for missing Luis

A police diving team searching the River Frome in Eastville have found a body in the search for missing 26-year-old Luis Piovesana.

The body was found at around 6pm on Monday near Napier Road.

An Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said that “while formal identification has not yet taken place, detectives have met with Luis’ family and updated them”.

“Our thoughts remain with them during this incredibly difficult time and they continue to be supported by specialist officers.”

Writing on social media, Luis’ sister Lubjana said: “Hello everyone, Luis has been found.

“We are completely devastated but he has passed away. I am grateful for everyone’s support. And I am so sorry this has happened.

“Luis was my little brother and loved by everyone. I wish he could have seen the love from everyone.

“He will be remembered by us all.”

Luis was last seen by friends getting into a taxi outside the Jam Jar in St Jude’s at 2.55am on Friday morning.

While in the taxi he made a call to his partner and left a voicemail, and also later made a 999 call.

CCTV footage showed Luis in multiple locations at Eastgate Retail Park between 3.15am and 3.30am, with the last confirmed sighting of him being on foot near the click & collect facility in the Tesco car park.
