‘One of the busiest Harbour Festivals ever’

By Bristol24/7  Monday Jul 20, 2015

A quarter of a million people packed into Bristol for one of the busiest Harbour Festivals ever.

Fine weather helped attract more than 250,000, with Saturday one of the busiest days in the event’s 44-year history.

A projected light show over 90 metres of the Lloyds building paid tribute to the city’s European Green Capital title, with huge crowds gathering in the amphitheatre on Friday and Saturday evenings.

More than 200 boats gathered in the floating harbour for the festivities.

Festival-goers watched a twelve minute show that celebrated Bristol’s maritime history, culture and green future before culminating in a pyrotechnics display which reflected in the harbour water.

But not everyone was pleased with the show, as the traditional large-scale fireworks were scaled down.
