Easton stabbing victim named as Kunta Ceesay

Kunta Ceesay has been named as the victim of the fatal stabbing on Stapleton Road on Friday afternoon.

It comes as a man has been charged with murder and will appear in court.

Shakawan Siddiqi, 32, of Wade Street in St Jude’s, is accused of the murder of 25-year-old Ceesay, who died from a stab wound to his chest after being taken from near the Black Swan pub in Easton to Southmead Hospital.

Siddiqi is due to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Two women aged 36 and 47 who were previously arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have now been released by police under investigation.
