Demolition continues apace at former police station

By Martin Booth  Monday Apr 8, 2024

There could soon be little left of the former Trinity Road police station.

Work is continuing apace to demolish the ex-cop shop in St Jude’s, on which will be built more than 100 new flats.

The plans for the site have been a long time in the making and were almost jeopardised by spiralling costs before a £1.5m bailout was approved by Bristol City Council to revive the scheme.

Once demolition has finished, the Guinness Partnership will build 104 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments in its place, which will be available for social rent.

A new police station will also be built on the ground floor of the new building, where a police station in different guises has been located for many years.
