David James Bristol City shirts up at auction

Bristol City fans could get their hands on a small piece of history after former goalkeeper David James put two of his Robins shirts up for auction.

James, who played at Ashton Gate from 2010 to 2012, was declared bankrupt in May and is selling 150 shirts, shorts and match balls.

The two Bristol City shirts on sale are:

  • Black with white trim goalkeeper jersey, 2010/11 season;
  • Number 1, red and black with white trim training top  

Bids for his possessions via the Hilco Industrial website can be made from tomorrow until November 18. 

Estimates for the collection vary, with a pink Portsmouth goalkeeper’s jersey expected to sell for £30 to £50.

The former England goalkeeper made 81 appearances for the Robins before being released after two years at Ashton Gate. He is now manager of the newly formed Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League.
