Bristol’s Strictly champions crowned
Emily Holloway and Charley Thomas have been crowned Bristol’s Strictly Come Dancing champions.
The pair took home the accolade after a glittering finale to the second annual competition was held at the Anson Rooms raising more than £20,000 for St Peter’s Hospice.
The 11 couples in the final had just eight weeks of professional dance training before going head-to-head, with the audience on the night voting for their winner.
The event was presented by Alice Crocker and Ian Downs from Jack FM and judges included Alex Lovell from BBC Points West and Ian Axton from ITV Westcountry.
28-year-old Emily from Redland said: “We are so pleased to have won Bristol Strictly Come Dancing 2015. It has been an amazing experience right from the start and we have met some amazing people along the way.
“It’s been such a fantastic opportunity to dance alongside such talented people, and to support St Peter’s Hospice in the brilliant work they do.
“The training has been so much fun, and culminated in such an exciting grand finale full of sequins and lots of hugs. It’s been a very emotional time and all the contestants are already planning our next fundraising event for the charity.”
