Preview: Bristol Cocktail Week 2014
The discerning drinkers of Bristol will be raising their glasses when Bristol Cocktail Week comes to town for its fourth annual event next week.
As well as industry events, there are also plenty of public activities and for the first time the opportunity to vote for their Bristol’s favourite bar.
Milk Thistle bartender and Cocktail Week founder Annie Mason said: “The idea of Bristol Cocktail Week is to showcase the skill and quality behind Bristol’s best bars and bartenders, while giving people the opportunity to try something new, and, of course, have a good time.”
Here are the public events:
October 21
7pm – Somerset Cider Brandy tasting – free entry
October 22
7pm – Harveys sherry tasting and food matching evening – free entry
October 23
7pm – Jinzu Gin Ball – free entry and canapes
October 24
8pm – Bacardi “A Night in 1930s Cuba” party – £5 entry (free entry with £5 wristband)
October 25
8pm – Hendrick’s Gin Through The Ages – £10 entry (£5 entry with wristband)
October 26
Awards Ceremony – invitation only
As well as crowning Bristol’s best bartender, decided by a series of cocktail competitions held across the city on Monday, there are awards for the city’s best bars in the following categories:
- Bar with Best Atmosphere – sponsored by J Wray & Nephew
- Best All Round Bar – sponsored by Herradura
- Bar with Best Service- sponsored by Gentleman Jack
- Bar with Best Menu – sponsored by Portobello Road
