Bristol Harbour Festival 2017 highlights: Dance

By Nat Brereton  Thursday Jul 20, 2017

Bristol Harbour Festival returns this weekend for its 46th year and, as always, promises to be a lively collection of activities, music, markets and exhibitions.

Every day this week, Bristol24/7 will focus on a different aspect of the celebrations in order to share some of the highlights and not-to-be-missed moments of one of the city’s finest family-friendly events.

This year’s dance events will be concentrated around Queen Square for the first time. There will be demonstrations, classes and open sessions for everyone to join in with and learn something from.

Local talent, including those who teach dance in Bristol, will perform and be on hand with coaching tips and advice, while those from further afield will also shake their tail feather here during the weekend.

Highlights over the weekend include Team BollyRed, with their high-octane, energetic barefoot moves inspired by the world of Bollywood, and Diddi Dance, who offer a special session for little ones who love to express their joy through dancing.

Saturday morning will start with a session of Zumba to get the blood pumping and the energy flowing, while on Sunday it’s a yoga class to help you take stock of the weekend and your inner energy.

You’ll find plenty to get involved with, drop into and dance along to all weekend.
