Royal Blood postpone Bristol gig

By Laura Williams  Monday Nov 10, 2014

Music fans were left disappointed this week as Royal Blood announced they would not be playing their Bristol gig on Wednesday (Nov 12), as the singer was suffering with severe tonsillitis.

Michael Kerr was recently hit by the bug, which has led to the rescheduling of three shows – with the Bristol gig now due to take place on December 19, with all original tickets valid for the new date.

A spokesman for the band said: “Mike has been diagnosed with severe tonsillitis and further to medical advice is not well enough to perform.”

Royal Blood’s UK tour sold out within minutes when tickets went on sale, thanks to a well-received self-titled debut album and lots of glowing press.

Local label Howling Owl Records jokingly claimed victory as they had earlier shared their ‘F C K R Y L B L D’ pin badges. See Facebook post here.

If you’re looking for something else to do on Wednesday night now, you’re spoilt for choice with Levellers + She Makes War at O2 Academy, James at Colston Hall, She Keeps Bees at The Lantern, Boy & Bear at Anson Rooms and a sold out gig from Kate Tempest at Fleece, among others.
