DC’s Shazam! spin-off Black Adam topped the chart for a second week, its £13.4m takings now beating the £13.3m total notched up by Shazam! Half-term family flick Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile continued its strong run by overtaking The Banshees of Inisherin to grab second place. Halloween lady exorcist horror Prey for the Devil was the highest new entry, though enough people were eager to flock to cinemas to watch Coldplay do their stuff on stage in Argentina to propel this event cinema concert into the top five too. At the foot of the chart Ruben Östlund’s well-received, Palme d’Or-winning drama about the ghastliness of the rich, Triangle of Sadness, is doing very well given that it’s showing in only 128 cinemas. By contrast, gay romcom Bros was the weekend’s big flop, having drummed up as little interest in the UK as it did in the US.
