Another week, another blockbuster shooting straight to the top of the chart. This time, it’s animated Spidey sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, whose £9.2m opening improved dramatically on the £1.2m of its 2018 predecessor Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. In second place, Disney’s The Little Mermaid continued its strong half-term run, adding another £4.2m to its tally. Fast X and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 each dropped a place, while Disney Stephen King adaptation Boogeyman secured a position in the top five ahead of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. If Suga Agust D Tour doesn’t ring any bells, it’s this week’s South Korean pop sensation. Mr. Suga (real name: Min Yoon-gi) is a rapper and former member of BTS.
