Despite all that hype, the Emma Thompson orgasm flick Good Luck To You, Leo Grande only managed to come fourth (sorry) as the heat kept perspiring punters away from cinemas over the weekend. Jurassic World: Dominion remained at the top with another £5.7m in the kitty, but is performing markedly less well than its predecessors in the dino franchise. By contrast, Top Gun: Maverick suffered a modest 24% drop in takings and is now way ahead of the first film. Indeed, after just three weeks the Tom Cruise sequel has already entered the UK’s all-time top 30. In third place, Pixar animation Lightyear is tailing the last two Toy Story films by quite a wide margin, but still has the whole summer to catch up.
