Schwetfest aims to celebrate underground and experimental sounds. It boasts a stout line up, featuring mostly Bristol based artists.

Lusia Kazaryan-Topchyan (ex-singer and keyboardist for the post-punk band Fanny Kaplan) aka Margenrot, holds the headline slot. Her solo work explores gloomy industrial sounds that capture the atmosphere of an earthy subterranean retreat.

David Terry will be performing his dungeon drone melancholia. His songs feature soft minimalistic synths that carve out sonic landscapes and often reach album worthy lengths.

Skinhead Dan, or UKAEA creates murky experimental dance music that ranges from Another Green World-esque minimalism to tense and drum driven dance music.

Sunun is known for her mixes on Bristol based Noods Radio. She often showcases her exhaustive knowledge across the Dub spectrum. She has also been heard to slip in post-punk, Ethno-industrial and meditative tunes. Her live performances are rare, so if you’re a fan you won’t want to miss this one.

The Perverts often sound like a more spazzed out and higher pitched Butthole Surfers. The songs feature the same dark humour but lean towards a lighter, jumbled, post-punk sound. Their albums are something I would play to my friends, but not my grandmother.

CHAMP is an artist collective that moved into the former working men’s club, The Brunswick Club, in March last year. They will be performing a piece of improvised sound.

Expect from Karim Maas and Vega excursions into drum & bass, techno and ambient. Vega is a founding member of UVB-76 Music, Ruffhouse and 4 6 2 5. Maas is a breakout DJ signed to Bristol based UVB-76 Music.

EMEI wintery sound begins soft yet remain subdued and gentle all the way until the end. They slowly map a sonically rising gradient until the fade comes. Whatever is it I’m experiencing, I am most definitely relaxed.

Yas Clarke’s songs are at once elegant and odd, relaxing and skittish, synthesized and naturalistic. Clarke’s EP “Palm Oil”, released in December last year, is a scintillation of electronic music and an excellent opener for the show.
