Thousands turn out for balloon glow
Thousands of people turned out on Thursday night for the spectacular night glow at the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta.
The inclement weather stayed calm and the sky was lit up as balloons ‘played’ along to the music.
EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

Hundreds of thousands of people are expected over the weekend to see the mass ascents of dozens of balloons during the fiesta.
Earlier in the day dozens of balloons took off to cheering crowds.

This year’s fiesta will also see the maiden passenger flights for the Bristol-developed solar balloon.
Made at Cameron Balloons in Bedminster, the balloon soaks up the heat through dark material which heats the air inside.
