Following the loss of their son, retired sheriff George Blackledge (Kevin Costner) and his wife Margaret (Diane Lane) leave their Montana ranch to rescue their young grandson. They discover that he is in the clutches of a dangerous family run by fearsome matriarch Blanche (Lesley Manville), who live off-grid in the Dakotas. And they ain’t gonna let him go without an almighty fight.
Adapted from Larry Watson’s bestseller, this is a handsomely staged, gripping and frequently very violent throwback western thriller.
