Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) might have lost to Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), but he’s still enjoying the fruits of his celebrity, having married the lovely Adrian (Talia Shire). But his moron-level dumbness proves an impediment to gainful employment and our boy soon comes to realise that the only thing he’s good at is walloping people. Time for a rematch.
Stallone wrote, directed and starred in this effective 1979 follow-up, which follows the simple sequel formula to the letter, but delivers where it counts – in the ring.
