Bristol International Jazz Festival 2015
Bristol International Jazz Festival returns in 2015 for the third year.
Last year’s festival drew crowds of around 10,000 with organisers announcing a return to the city on 5-8 March, 2015.
The free of charge launch event is open to all and takes place in Colston Hall’s foyer from 6pm on Wednesday 19 November, with Chirimoya and Emily Wright and the Royals taking to the stage. During the evening the Festival’s 2015 programme will be announced with tickets on sale to make sure fans don’t miss out on the unmissable acts on offer.
And for those who are thirsty for more of ‘all that jazz’ there is a concert in the Lantern from 8pm. When Ella Met Frank sees two of Bristol’s most talented singers come together to share their love of two of jazz’s greatest artists; Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra.
The Jazz Festival’s Artistic Director Denny Ilett has had a hugely successful career performing as Frank Sinatra, and he has found his match with The Voice’s Celestine Walcott-Gordon. Walcott-Gordon will step into Ella Fitzgerald’s shoes to sing a selection of tracks from the Great American Songbook while Ilett shares some of Ol’ Blue Eyes’ best moments.
