It’s all about Bond again this week. No Time To Die has now taken more than £52 million in just 11 days and could yet eclipse both Skyfall and Spectre at the UK box office if audiences continue to flock. Although Bond continues to account for around 90% of all cinema tickets sold in the UK, there are encouraging signs of a return to normal attendance levels. The only big new release, animated sequel The Addams Family 2, enjoyed a strong £2m opening – which is much the same as the first film achieved back in pre-pandemic 2019. After six weeks on release. Disney’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings finally crawled over the £20m mark, overtaking Peter Rabbit 2 to become the second-biggest hit of the year. Further down the chart, Candyman has finally hit £5m and Respect £2m.
