The story of Khabar Lahariya, India’s only newspaper run by Dalit women, Writing With Fire follows Chief Reporter Meera and her tight-knit team of journalists as they challenge both a male-dominated media landscape and the gender roles to which they are expected to conform.

Writing with Fire was the winner of the Audience Award at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival. The Cinema De Lux’s screening is part of a short programme of Sundance highlights and will be followed by a pre-recorded Q&A with directors Rintu Thomas and Sushmit Ghosh.
