Bristol’s week in film: July 2-8 2021

Horror comedy Freaky is this week’s big-ish new release in the pause between Fast & Furious 9 and Black Widow. The latter is previewed at all major cinemas, in 2D and 3D, from Wednesday.

Alternative choices include the hugely entertaining Another Round and the eye-opening Zamrock documentary WITCH: We Intend to Cause Havoc.

Down at the Watershed, there’s a timely screening of the Disgraced Monuments documentary, together with a discussion.

If you’re craving outdoor cinema, the Curzon’s Seaside Cinema season kicks off on Thursday with an al fresco screening of Back to the Future.

Oh, and it’s happy 25th birthday to both Trainspotting and Independence Day. If you want to party like it’s 1996, both films are back on the big screen this week.
