Bristol Film Festival reveals autumn/winter 2019 programme

Horror in the caves, spooks at Arnos Vale, sci-fi at the Planetarium & book early for Christmas!

Bristol Film Festival has unveiled its autumn/winter programme, which sees the return of tried and tested favourites alongside a bunch of new events. The hugely popular Horror in the Caves series returns to Redcliffe Caves from October 25. If that’s not spooky enough for you, the festival is staging a takeover of Bristol Museum on Halloween and the silent classic Nosferatu returns to Bristol Cathedral.

Other venues include Aerospace Bristol for a second screening of Airplane! beneath Concorde, the SS Great Britain for James Cameron’s hit romance’n’drowning epic Titanic, and the Planetarium for a suitably cosmic selection of films including Interstellar and Alien.

The Festival’s series of boozy screenings in Averys’ wine cellar returns with Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, followed by Carry On Screaming, Young Frankenstein and Die Hard.

And finally, proving that it’s never too early to book for Christmas, there are festive screenings at the Passenger Shed and City Museum. Yes, bloody Elf is included…
